15th Anniversary of Denver Colfax Marathon Brings a Full Week of Events
A full week of events leading up to race weekend for Denver Colfax Marathon has been added to the calendar in celebration of the 15th anniversary. Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th, 2020 will be race weekend, but this year events will begin on Monday, May 11th.
During the race, runners are provided the Ultimate Urban Tour throughout the Denver area on the courses, including the Denver Zoo, Empower Field at Mile High run-throughs, 7 miles of water, Cherry Creek Bike path, Downtown Denver, fire station run-throughs, and much more.

Beginning Monday, May 11th, leading up to race weekend, will be the annual Colorado Running Hall of Fame. The Colfax Marathon hosts the evening and invites the community to enjoy the 2020 inductee ceremony of some of Colorado’s best athletes including High School Honorees from around the state.
Tuesday will bring a Marathon Movie Night, with the movie to be determined, getting athletes and fans geared up for the weekend ahead. Followed by Shake Out Runs on Wednesday with multiple locations throughout the Denver Metro Area with Colfax Marathon Ambassadors.
Thursday evening will be the Colfax Evening Out full of entertainment and fun with details to come.
Friday kicks off race weekend with the annual Health & Fitness Expo from 2pm – 8pm and Saturday from 9am – 5pm. Athletes meet up with friends and teammates at the Health & Fitness Expo at the spectacular Club Suites Area at Empower Field at Mile High where they pick up race packets, a tech shirt, and enjoy shopping for great new gear.
Race weekend events include the Colfax 5K on Saturday where runners can set a fast PR, jog or walk the course at the official Marathon Start and Finish. Strollers and dogs are welcome.
Sunday is Race Day with 6 races to choose from.
The Full Marathon takes runners through Denver’s best landmarks. From the home of the Denver Broncos – Empower Field at Mile High, running along 7 miles of water including Confluence Park, Cherry Creek, the Platte and Sloan’s Lake, to Denver Fire Station #1, to Downtown Denver and onto America’s longest main street, Colfax Avenue – all under the majestic views of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.
The Marathon Relay, the largest Marathon Relay in the country, is a chance to experience the course but split the 26.2 miles through the Mile High City with friends. Get a team of five to run Denver’s only 26.2 mile Marathon Relay. There are 3 divisions in the Relay: Open, Corporate Cup (employee teams), and Government Cup (employee teams).
The Half Marathon, Denver’s wildest race, takes runners on a one mile trek through Denver Zoo, along the tree-lined boulevards of Park Hill and through Aurora Fire Station #1. Enjoy the quintessential Colorado entertainment along the way.
The Urban 10 Miler, Colorado’s 10-mile race, runs the final miles of the Marathon course through Empower Field at Mile High, Confluence and Downtown. Start on the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design campus, finish in City Park.
At the finish of all races, join spectators and fellow runners in City Park for a big party. Colorado renowned band headlines the afterparty with free lunch and a Beer Garden lakeside. Runners can meet up with their friends, family and fellow runners to show off their finisher medals and enjoy the spring day. Colfax Marathon has more than 200 non-profits most of whom will be represented in Charity Partner Village as well.
