2017 Colfax Marathon Awards $100,000 to Charities
More than 19,000 runners and 210 charity partners participated in the 2017 Colfax Marathon, and more than 1,200 teams came to compete not only on the course, but also for one of more than 200 charity partners who are a part of the DaVita Charity Partners Program. Colfax was proud to award $100,000 during this year’s awards evening to deserving charities and public schools in Colorado through the Marathon Relay segment of the Colfax Marathon Weekend.
“As a non-profit ourselves we continue our passion for running and helping others in our community. Including the awards evening, we are proud to give more than $100,000 to charity partners and public schools throughout the year. We see the direct impact our event has on the charities who make the Denver Metro area and Colorado such a great place to live,” commented Andrea Dowdy, CEO of The Colfax Marathon.
Also included are the public school awards. This year’s winner is Cherry Creek High School, with a total of 11 public schools each winning $1,000 for their schools.
The Corporate Cup Division has grown to be the largest division of the Colfax Marathon Relay with over 500 teams out of the total relay of 1250, one of the largest marathon relays in the country. Included this year in the Corporate Cup Division are 12 industry categories including Accounting, Construction, Healthcare, Financial services and High Tech/Broadcasting.
