Team Relay has become a huge part of the event

The Colfax Marathon is more than a marathon. The associated half marathon attracts more runners, and the 10-miler also has a strong annual following.

But the most popular event come Sunday morning will be the marathon relay, which will attract about 6,375 runners on five-person teams and breaks the distance (26.2 miles) into five legs ranging from 3.5 to 6.5 miles. By comparison, the marathon will attract about 1,750 registrants, the half marathon 5,650 and the 10-miler 1,275.
